ORKA's debut album ‘Livandi oyða’ was recorded at Niels L. Thomsen’s farm Innan Glyvur, Faroe Islands. All instruments heard on the record were built during Christmas 2005 using scrap material and power tools found at the farm. After finishing building the instruments ORKA composed and recorded for five days, an ended with a concert in the farm’s machine hall on New Year’s Eve 2005.

As well as the original recording sessions, the record features collaborations with The Third Eye Foundation, Bookworms, Oktopus/Deadverse, and Com-Data. Included with the Limited Edition physical release is a DVD with two music videos, two live videos, from the concert New Year’s Eve 2005 and a short documentary explaining how the instruments were made.

FJØLLINI STANDA ÚTI

Fjøllini standa úti
Huld í támi og surrandi flugum
Sveipað í vindi
Og lítla ljóðinum frá svongum rótum
Áirnar stoyta seg út í onki
Fjøllini syngja
Sum stórir operasangarar klæddir í grasi
Syngja fjøllini
Leggi stetoskopið móti bringuni
Eitt hjarta av gróti og vatni
Dukar móti oyrunum
Eg spyrji hjartað
Hvussu hevur tú tað
Fjøllini standa einsamøll úti
Ongin bjóðar teimum inn
Míni fjøll standa køld úti í myrkrinum
Tey frysta

Her havi eg altíð búð
Myndin av hesum skarpa landslagi í heilabørkini
Veit ikki hvar mítt mark gongur
Og hellurnar sprongdar av frost og sól
Taka við

VOLMAR LETUR EYGAÐ AFTUR

Volmar súkklar niðan brekku, dettur

letur eygað aftur
